"Mashriki's argument that Hamoked and B'Tselem do not defend human rights, but only the rights of Palestinians, is appalling and frightening. In her view, either the Palestinians do not fall under the category of persons entitled to human rights, or they are not human beings." This isn't her views but your views. The point is that the concept has been politicized to the point of it becoming meaningless because it's not in the service of "human" rights, but of a political agenda. This fact should trouble even such inveterate proponents of universal rights.
