Thank you for printing a couple of my recent postings (I just Googled them, having missed a few pertinent editions of online Haaretz). One was about General Pinochet last month, another about Bush and his Mideast policies. In each posting, I made some reference to those with Christian profession. I had an interesting and positive dialogue recently with an Orthodox neighbour. We discussed Christians. I said, "John, I do not know of a single Christian perosnality who is expressing concern for Israel and for Jewish people who does so insincerely." He said, "Yes, but you must understand that this is all so new to us", historically speaking. Some of what I have written will not endear me to Christian people whom I have known, but I have learned that I absolutely must put standards on relationships, which include some real awareness of our surroundings, and an appreciation for other peoples' experiences. And - yes! - the ability to listen. Thanks again. You have done me no disfavours.
