I would much much much prefer a world where Israel stays firm allies with the USA, than by getting into bed with the Chinese or another merging super-power. Most Israelis would agree with me. The USA is very popular for Israel, and most Israelis strongly identify with the founding principles of the USA. US foreign aid for Israel is a two-edged sword, for both the US and Israel. From Israel's perspective, it comes with a political price tag, as well as having a limiting effect on the Israeli arms industry to remain aligned with developing technologies of US military hardware, and not veer too far to seek alternative options "elsewhere".
