"Face it, you were out-voted by many who have changed with the times." (Steve of Mevaserret) Yes, we have been clearly out-voted. Then what? What kind of argument is that? You were - I was not - with the majority of Israelis who supported Israel's unilateral withdrawal from Gaza, you said, but now realize the consequences. How can you STILL NOT see how delusive it is to believe that an electoral majority is necessary right, and a minority always wrong? That's beyond my comprehension. "We already have an Iranian-controlled terrorist entity in Gaza launching rockets into our cities." (Steve of Mevaserret) How can you believe that, but not acknowledge that Cast Lead was a terrible waste of lives and resources, that could have been avoided by entrusting the keys of Gaza into Abbas's hands, instead of publicly humiliating him? "Some people entrenched in their defeatist philosophy just close their eyes to the facts and refuse to learn from past mistakes." (Steve of Mevaserret) Are you perhaps alluding to Major General (ret.) Shlomo Gazit, first Coordinator of Government Operations in the territories (1967-74), and former Head of Military Intelligence (1974-79) who authored "Trapped Fools: Thirty Years of Israeli Policy in the Territories", published April 2003?
