Well Sam, for your information NO settlements are legal under International Law. Which is why no country, including the US has recognized them as being legal. International Law prohibits any occupier from transferring their citizens to the occupied territory. The fact that Israel ignores the law doesn't legitimatise the illegal settlements. This is why Israel is desperate for a "negotiated" peace. Without it they may not legally extend their borders beyond what they declared in May of 1948. International Law is crystal clear on this point. NOTHING Israel has annexed is recognized by the international community, NOTHING!
