'Miliband, the FM and favourite for future Labour leader is, it so happens Jewish by the way.' I'm glad you reminded me. I attended his Bar Mitzvah, years ago. No, I didn't give him a pen and pencil set. Goldstone is Jewish, too, and although I never attended *his* Bar Mitzvah, I can tell you that neither he nor Miliband have any idea of what life is like, living under the threat (and the actuality) of rocket bombardment. Hide behind the Geneva Convention all you want - but it's nothing more than a scrap of paper used by those defending the thugs and murderers of Hamas. And it certainly isn't a suicide pact for the Israelis. Let these Jews live in Sderot long enough to know its citizens, and then for a rocket to hit a school, a bus, a synagogue, a business. Suddenly, all their earlier complaints against Israel will seem quite academic to them. MV

What division? Jews united over Iran deal

Not only are left and right in Israel united in opposition to Obama's compact of appeasement; the deal has made bedfellows of an astonishing array of Jewish organizations in America.

Palestinian workers stand under a shelter

You love Israel and hate occupation. What do you do?

There's a certain freedom in a time of extremism and obsession and chaos. Freedom to chart a new course. Freedom to love Israel. Freedom to help undo what it's done in your name.

How Isaiah gave Hebrew its word for vagina

If St Jerome and other experts are right, Israelis may have thought that 'pot' meant vulva, but actually they were saying cup. Or forehead. Or maybe something else.
