The first step is for real. It could be implemented tomorrow if we wanted: THEY stop all hostilities. WE stop expanding settlements in the West Bank and halt all military actions. Just set a date and DO it. All this has to be done in a time frame of several months to make sure both sides keep their part of the bargain. Then move on to the next stage: Continued cessation of hostilities would be responded to by gradual dismantling of all settlements from the West Bank - continually pending on NO hostilities on the part of the Palestinians. Then, when we have attained security and the Palestinians know they have land for a Palestinian state, we can start working on the rest. Right of return, an egalitarian sovereign Jewish/Arab state with no borders and a new Middle East -that's an ideal for the far future. You will say: THEY MUST RECOGNIZE ISRAEL - well they will have done that already. Negotiation is recognition. You can't negotiate with someone you don'trecognize!
