Leah, I oppose violence of all sorts. Moreover, the suicide bombings, in addition to killing Israelis, harmed the Palestinian cause. But the suicides were a response to Israeli state terrorism. 3-4 times the Palestinians have been killed as Israelis. Israel has the 3rd or 4th most powerful military in the world, thanks to the US and its taxpayers. Israel uses the full force of its might on a civilian Palestinian population--people like you, me, your parents, grandparents, etc etc. Suicide bombings are z response, like David fighting Golieth. As for the wall, it is not a protective measure. Missiles fly over it and tunnels go under it, and Israelis will pay a heavy price when the missiles begin to fly from the West Bank, just as Israelis are now paying in Sderotit despite the government's insitence on how wonderful the wall is. Had the wall been built on the 'green line' you might argue an intention to protect Israelis, even though no wall can do that. But the purpose of this wall is to steal land. How would you feel if someone came and stole all your home or 3/4 or 1/2 of it? You'd hardly feel kindly towards the thief. Why expect Palestinians to take it without a struggle? The only way to bring security to Israelis is to give Palestinians justice and freedom.
