Israel has always depended on Jewish immigration since its inception for what is considers its survival as a Jewish state, and why it continuously concentrates on demography. Its aim is that all Jews (at least who is considered Jewish according to Israel's law of return) make immigration to Israel. How many times have Israeli official including Sharon, come here and asked American Jews to all immigrate to Israel. That's also why Israel's LawofReturn was extended to include people who had Jewish grandparents. Tom Segev wrote an article for Ha'aretz on 7/4/05 entitled "A Zionist Achievement: Germany is restricting Jewish Immigration." It read, in part: "Jews from the former Soviet Union who wished to immigrate to Germany will no longer be recognized as refugees. Israel had already persuaded the United States not to accept Jewish "refugees" from the former Soviet Union, because they have a homeland to go to." Need more be said???
