"This land is firstly Jewish." (Henry) You are so right, even I cannot dispute that. This land has always been Jewish, at least as from the Promise made to Avraham Avinu. All Jews know that. They also know this Land has stayed Jewish under the Romans, the Byzantines, the Persians, Seljuks, Crusaders, Mongols, the Mamelukes, the Turks, the British, and under the Jordanians. No matter what were the colours of the uniforms. This is what my father told me, and what his father told him. So now, will you tell me why it cannot stay Jewish under the Palestinians as well? Just curious. "The Christians, Germans, Muslims and others tried to kill us here. They are now trying again." (Henry) Sorry, but that sounds to me terribly paranoidical, especially after what President Bush said publicly, last September, "You are (President Mahmoud Abbas) a leader willing to act on behalf of people who yearn for peace", mentionning also, "the vision so many Palestinians long for, and that is a society in which they can raise their children in peace and hope." www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/09/20060920-1.html

Israel's angry, bitter left must reclaim the language of hope

We leftists whine and complain, we only talk about how bleak and hopeless life is in Israel. We alienate all those Israelis whose support we need to bring political change.
