One clear example of falacy of such statement (you don`t make peace with your friends - you make peace with your enemies) is infamous Munich agreement. Britain and France followed this diplomatic "wisdom" and made peace with their enemy. But Hitler did not want to make peace with his enemies. Therefore it failed. So far I heard only demands to Israel: make peace for land. No, only "peace for peace" can bring setlement. Demand desire for peace from BOTH sides if you want to see peace.
