ok Eyal, lets say i believe you which i'm comming around to doing because at the end of the day Barak is a politician, no more. Who is there? Give me an alternative. A person who can win an Israeli election, make an effective coalition govt., form a REAL cabinet, has the guts to face the IDF cronies, the political right, the Settler movements, the Yeshiva, can charm the uneasy centrist Israeli public, buldoze necessary legislation through, and negotiate with the Lebnanese, Syrians and Pals and not to mention survive the 1000 Pulsa Denuras. Barak cant do that i know, Sharon didnt even try but showed great potential after the withdrawl. There will never be an ideal man for the job, but we can get close enough, and still for my, Barak is as close as i see from the choices given.
