First you argue that if the Palestinians had a state then any attack from that state would constitute an act of war. First of all this is only partially correct: If it is a government sponsored attack then yes, but if it is some anti-government group then you would also have to call attacks on Palestinians by Jewish Settlers as acts of war. Second, you say "we could then bomb and assault Gaza without any compunction whatsoever as all the civilians are then also enemies." Since when does an act of war justify indiscriminate attacks on a civilian population? That is the same as saying that Hamas is justified in firing on civilian populations within Israel if they are at war. You cant call it terrorism on one side and legitimate military response on the other. The hypocrisy is enough to make me dizzy...
