May I remind you that this was an Israeli election & NOT a 'palestinian' one. Clearly the outcome is important to arabs, but the voters appear to have chosen more of the same, with a very low turnout indicating apathy. My guess is that voters are sick of the violent rhetoric, & just want to get on with life, in a spirit of cooperation like the EU for example; not perfect but much better than 'intifada'. I am convinced the 'man on the street' in gaza also wants this deep down, but is so frustrated at corruption, he has chosen the only other path available. Hopefully the new government will show real leadership qualities - just maybe hamas will respond & stop the suicide bombs. Probably a dream, as reflected by the low turnout, but who knows........
