Dear Dana. We have never interacted in the past, but I have read some of your posts. Please stop trying to make comparisons to situations in North America, they do not fit. I understand that people find it necessary to compare the unknown to knowns in their lives. Yet I fear that your understanding of U.S. prisons is taken from television and not reality. I would recommend that you make an attempt to familiarize yourself with Palestinian society before the advent of Zionism. This has always been a fragmented society, based not on nationalism but on Clans and family ties. What we now call Palestine has always been under some form of occupation, from the Arab and Syrians in the seventh century up to the Turks and Brits. Arab societies have traditionally been governed and ordered around tribal leaders and the Clans. Until their is a strong leader to enforce a reasonable sense of law and order the anarchy of Clans and religious elements will fight it out.
