The Labor party's decline is due to its loss of ideology. Labor stopped fighting for its socialist agenda in favor every coalition that would keep it in power. The decline changed to free-fall under Barak. Barak is no socialist, indeed he seems to favor capitalism. As was demonstrated by his recent defection from Labor, all he cares about are foreign affairs (as did Peres and Rabin). In order to change this ruinous trend, Labor better bend the other way: towards social concerns. Of course, Labor should vote for peace, and it will. But it must stress its social commitment. Let all ex-Generals know: If they have no social concern, let them look for political prominence elsewhere.
