What they probably should have said is "If the state of Israel creates a reasonable relationship with the Palestinians (very easy, despite right wing propaganda) then the '67 borders are as good as any. But if the state of Israel will only be confrontational and continues to ignore the legitimacy of Palestinian interests then there are no borders that will give Israel security". In other words "The '67 borders are irrelevant, a red herring".
