I has been said above but bears repeating: abusers prefer to "keep it in the family". No witnesses please!, and journalists are witnesses: Politkovskaia assassinated just 2 days ago for witnessing Putin's protection of chechens, journalists killed by US tanks in Hotel Palestine, Bagdad, 2003, for witnessing US protection of Iraqi from Saddam, and so many more everywhere. IDF, being modest, does not want its well known heroic protection of Palestinian farmers being witnessed! I am sure that it is also modestly helping Lebanese farmers to clear their fields of the one million unexploded bomblets dropped as a friendly parting gesture, and help them bury the unfortunate peasants killed by them (15 so far I hear) since the ceasefire. The "ethical army" will stop at nothing to rise (or should I say sink?) to its ethical standards, not for a good 30+ years. Meanwhile we watch, amazed and powerless as bold faced, cynical hypocrisy reaches new heights. All we can do is bear witness!(familiar?)
