i beleive a soldier can refuse an order if it is unlawfull. having said that it is also a fact that being nice and considerate during an firefigth and not following an order to attack or to shoot can cost you or your fellow soldiers thier lifes,so the best option is to do your duty and follow an order.if every induvitual in the army does what he or she thinks is the best in wartime, than you have no army but a loose bunch of amatuers with guns .what the general said is is the truth, we do not want to hear that, so he is called all sorts of names by a lot of poeple,i would like to see those people in the position the general talks about, and than see what they would say.it is the same when a person attacks someone who took the law in his own hands to avenge the murder of his son or daugter ,but when it happens to HIS family he sings a different tune than he also wants revenge.it is easy to call a person names from the comfort of your home or office but in the heat of batle it is very different, as milions of soldiers could tell you. joseph theeboom
