i don't recall if you are one of the posters that keeps claiming that the palestinians have never been a nation and that there was never a country called palestine, therfore their call for an independent state has no merit. let me remind you, even if you aren't one of those, that we americans were once nothing but the subjects of the king of england and certainly not a nation, but something called 'taxation without representation' turned us into a nation. most nations didn't start as such, something happens to a group of people to make them a nation with aspiration to a country. in the palestinian's case it was the trauma of the israeli conquest in 1967 and its aftermath. as a matter of fact, i see the palestinian as much more of a true nation than the israelis. they have a common language and customs and traditions dating centuries back. the israelis came from all over the world, no common customs, no common language. even today, many israelis speak hebrew poorly or not at all, for others it's only the second or third language, about a million or moer came from the russian republics and their jewish roots are doubtful or alltogether phony, just a way to get out of the mess the former ussr had become.some religious jews don't even consider seculars to be real jews, some sephardim feel much closer, although would never admit it to to arabs than to ashkenzi jews, etc, etc, etc. any way you look at it the palestinians are much more a nation than the jews are. so hopefully those fools who keep rpeating the palestinians don't exist will peddle it somewhere else.
