Time will tell, Andy, whether this man Sharon has any intention to create conditions that will lead to peace. Never in his career has he compromised. He dictates. It is to be on his terms or none at all. His disengagement from Gaza has nothing to do with peace or reconciliation with the Palestinians. It is part of his demographic plan to preserve the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem as part of Israel, regardless of what this means for the Palestinians, who are for him a non-entity. His plan all along has been to drive them out, transfer them or make life so unbearable for them that they will leave voluntarily. It is like the tripart plan that the Czar had for the Jews of Russia, except of course Sharon does not intend to convert a third of the palestinians. That he is seeking to do with those from Slavic lands or the lost tribes of Israel from Peru or Burma.
