Israel is doing a perfectly legal and legitimate form of applying pressure to an enemy regime which in its charter denies its right to exist, this pressure is called SANCTIONS and Israel has the right to do this to eliminate support for Hamas among a population which voted in the Terrorist organization in 2007 with its , and quite probably because of its "kill the Jews" policy. USA and global sanction against Iran are not just against weapons making materials but against all sort of economic luxuries as well. While these sanctions might not be pleasant for the average innocent, (and yes there are innocents in Gaza, I've met some of them), it is not a humanitarian crisis not to be allowed pine nuts with your hummus. Many countries suffer shortages when they are at war, and as Hamas charter proclaims, they are at a state of war, and that is the main reason why the UN even had to admit that the blockade was legal. There are a lot of knee jerk reactionaries as seen by the comments posted here, and Amira Hass' article is written for you, the (read and react type) whose reaction is expected by the writer. No need to think so sensationalism goes a long way. Do yourselves a favor and do some research, you all might learn something
