You've got to be kidding me. If Iran was truly interested in "peacefully handling the recent crisis" there wouldn't have been any crisis to begin with! Do you honestly think capturing sailors and marines is an effective way of demonstrating peaceful intentions, or has your last remaining neuron finally stopped firing? This whole hostage thing was only an attempt by Iran to divert the world's attention and stop the UN from passing more sanctions against them. The sailors weren't severely mistreated because Ahmedinejad planned the whole thing so that Iran would appear to be reasonable, peaceful, and humane. The entire debacle was a setup, and I'm not buying it.
