Ben Jabo states that if they held a gun, it means they were combatants. As far as I can recall, most oppressed people who held guns have always been considered freedom fighters, and not "combatants." That's what Israel calls its own Jewish/Zionist organizations that existed during the British Mandate. How many times have they been referred to as "freedom fighters"? The only problem is that rhey were not oppressed by the British, but nevertheless carried guns, kidnapped, bombed and carried out assassinations. It appears that the term combatants/terrorists are used only when it refers to Palestinians who are the true freedom fighters in every sense of its meaning.
