The other point is that an attack will not derail Iran's nuclear program by much. In fact, it may accelerate it given that Iran already has the domestic know-how to do it. If attacked, Iran will pull out of the NPT and secretly set up smaller but numerous enrichment facilities. They already have enough UF6 for many . I prefer an Iran monitored by IAEA than one out of the NPT. Judging from their blunder in Iraq, I am not sure that Israel and its fans in the US can think strategically anymore.
