While Rabbi Jacobs may have reason to be optimistic in the short-run, in the real tipping point is demographic. Unless and until there is a decline in the Haredi birthrate, the real tipping point wlll be only a few decades hence, when the Haredim become the majority of the voting age Jewish population. When that happens, non-Orthodox Jews will soon be on their way to North America, Europe and Australia and Israel will, unfortunately, become the first First World country to become a Third World country, as its universities make way for yeshivot for the "society of learners."
