Good words, good goals. What about their timing? All this is embedded in the tsunami of jihadism and global anti-Semitism. Both these intertwined factors are not something Jewish greatness can control, nor Jewish smallness can confront. Thus the urgency of Obama's role, and the one of the European Union, Russia, China, and many other great countries and regions. Obama doesn't seem to truly understand these two factors in the time context of this push for peace. Moreover, the very urgency for this push for peace comes from a race between the forces of jihadism -specially Iran- and global anti-Semitism. The leadership of the United States is now more urgent than ever, and the vision of its president, more crucial than in any time in Israel's history.
