Israel is really running out of time in the diplomatic world. As its "friends" and "allies" start to get fed up with unfulfilled promises the U.S. might also start to weigh it as a liability. This is not something that should be falling on deaf ears and probably is a serious concern. For starters Israel MUST play the Palestinian game and Halt all settlement construction for a period of 365 days. The Palestinians and Israel must then immediately go back to the negotiating table without ANY preconditions. Both sides must immediately establish their lines in the sand. No refugees returning to Israel pre-1967, however some form of compensation will be paid. Jerusalem is off the table other than splitting its governance by a third party World body and UN troops providing security. All Palestinian factions must immediately be disarmed and a Palestinian national army must be formed which is committed to the principles of International law and cease all acts of terror. Much like Japan after world war two the New Palestinian state would only be allowed to have defensive weapons. Thats a starting point.
