If Noam Shalit van be freed by commandos then do it.Nothing whatsoever should be done to bargain for his return.A soldier must be prepared to die. All of this truly excessive concern for the return of one captured soldier harms Israel in many ways.It is a national weakness that a soldier is promoted for having carelessly allowed himself to be taken hostage. This encourages more abductions. Those responsible for his plight must pay with death. There can be no other way because if captured and tried they would be freed for the next Shalit.Declare Shalit a casualty of terrorist war and punish both those responsible and those who expected to benefit. Extend their terms, deny visits.Shalit is as good as dead.If alive it would make Israel safer to kill him rather than accede to Hanna's demands. And give the fallen soldiers of Israel a stake in the natural gas fields off Gaza.Let Gaza's sea border extend no further than mean high tide.
