Netanyahu certainly is one of the more influential figures in American politics. It is irrelevant if you like him or not. His influence is mainly related to his position, rather than his particular personal features. America invests a great deal of money, military effort, and emotion on Israel. He shamelessly promotes the Zionist cause ,as does the American Congress and Senate. They are essentially soul mates. It is a strong alliance and perhaps unique. No other foreign leader would dare interfere in Internal American politics, as they take the longer view: Presidents from either side come and go. If say Obama were to lose the next election, factors that lead to that outcome will be remembered by the Democrat Party for a long while to come.
