Rabbinical Judaism today is a new religion developed by the Rabbis for the diaspora. It's outmoded and tyranical and has little to do with the religion of the Bible. Rav Kook understood this well and that's why he was rejected by the majority of his co-religionists. He called contrasted the temporary holiness of the religion of the Galut with the holiness of the Land and saw the need for a change. The rabbis rejected him and rejected the updating of their new religion to reflect the new circumstance of our return to the Land. This has led to a host of problems, some of which are reported above. It's time for the rabbis to loosen their grip on the religion and start helping people who want to convert instead of setting up so many roadblocks. Who died and made them G-d anyway?
