This whole thing has become such a joke! The profile for the head of a UN commission on Gaza should have been very clear from the beginning: No Israeli, no Palestinian, no Jew/Zionist, no Muslim........ - Comment - Israel News | Haaretz Daily Newspaper

It really wouldn't have taken a genius in order to fore- see, that if a head of commission from one of the above mentioned groups would come up with a verdict, that his "own brethren" won't like, he would most probably become subject of pressure, intimidation and (at least verbal) abuse. And that is exactly what has happened over the past 2 years. I'm not saying that this was the only reason for judge Goldstones's sudden and mysterious U-turn, but it surely was an important factor.....the sheer naivety of the UN in that regard is sometimes absolutely breathtaking! And the end result of that UN incompetence is now the fact, that Mr. Goldstones credibility and reputation is totally shattered....among supporters of Israel, the Palestinians and most "neutral observers" of the conflict.
