My son was hospitalised recently in Meir. We went to the study room ao we could sit & revise some maths. We are obvious Jews - our skull caps are a real give-away. A charming young muslim teacher (her hijab also a give-away) offered (in excellent Hebrew) to tutor my son. We equally politely declined as this was some father-son time, she turned her attention to a young arab girl, whom she tutored in Arabic. The staff including the supervisors, all conversed in the most convenient language between themselves and the patients. It was a wonderful experience - and very educational - for us all. That is the TRUTH of what goes on in the Meir hospital education center. REAL co-existence. I suggest that the Haaretz staff go on site to do some research.
