The Assad government made their share of bloody mistakes, which were no doubt aggravated by Syrian awareness of NATO's replay of the Libyan gambit. This extinguished possibilities of restraint on the part of the Syrians, knowing they were under a major assault. Not helpful. Iran has declared its intentions NOT to build a nuclear weapon. This is credible and rational. Western paranoia and belligerency only pushes Iran in the very direction that NATO is allegedly trying to prevent. All in all, what began as a local tragedy has been inflated out of all proportion by "humanitarian" bombings and terrorism on the part of the West.
