Let us recall that when Turkey's relations with Israel were in rapid decline following the "flotilla" incident and Israel's refusal to even apologize, Lieberman "explained" the situation by saying that this was a process that had started long before, with Turkey's Islamization. The result was that Israel simply gave up on the relations with the strongest Islamic state in the region, actually an appalling act of diplomatic incompetence. Now, following Turkey's generous act of helping Israel with fire fighting in her time of need, it is clear that the friendship should not have been given up for dead. Lieberman simply undermined the relations with Turkey in the "low chair" matter, then continued and placed the blame for the trouble on Turkey. He acts and reacts similarly on the Israeli Arabs: First he wants to kick them out of the country, then places the blame for Jewish racist attitudes towards the Israeli Arabs on the victims. This was perhaps reasonable behavior for the Soviet Union, but importing this to a small country like Israel is a foolish error.
