Israel has had that base in Eritrea for quite a long time now, they didn't just move in recently. It has taken over a former Soviet base where it has placed an electronic warfare station and supplies submarines with fuel and food. As well as Eritrea Israel also has UAVS based in Kurdistan which are used to spy on Iran and possibly be equipped with missiles if a decision was made to attack Iran so the reach of the IDF is now spreading and with submarines that have a range to go to Iran unlike its previous generation of subs which were for coastal definese only. So the reach of the IDF is spreading.
