If the Palestinians are asking to be recognized as a member state within the 1967 borders, it means, defacto, that they are recognizing Israel as a state outside those borders. This is something we should all be very happy about. (If, for example, a people has it's own state, it can not very well demand that another state absorb it's 'refugees'. The right move for Israel now is to try to get a bill passed recognizing the international status of the old city of Jerusalem, as in the original partition resolution.
