i think the overall plan for a display of unity would be a beautiful idea had these non-jewish communities been incorporated and embraced as israeli citizens, and afforded the same rights, privileges, and opportunities from the onset. but considering how israel's independence came about, and the losses these communities suffered because of it, and their treatment ever since; expecting them to embrace this celebration enthusiastically borders on the insane. as for using money already allotted to them as blackmail? that speaks for itself; but it comes as no real surprise. which brings us back to the issue again; why was it these people were expected to take part in the celebration? you've got to be unbelieveably FULL OF YOURSELF to think that they would!
