Hamas is not enemy of Abbas or the PA. Hamas complements, not undermine, the PA. The fundamental goals of Hamas and the PA are the same, namely to get Israel to withdraw from the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem and resolve the refugee plight in accordance with UN resolution 194. Yes, Hamas doesn't recognize Israel but Israel also doesn't recognize Hamas. However, this stand is only ideological, even theological, but not political. After all, Hamas is not a state, it is only a group, a political movement. On Saturday, one of Hamas's spokesmen said "we are not thinking of destroying Israel or anybody." Israel, if it really wants peace, which i doubt it, must never try to impose her will on us. This won't work. It hasn't worked for the past 58 years, and it won't work. Besides, Israel has its extremist groups as well, which are actually are far more radical and violent and racist. Indeed, If Israel thinks Hamas shouldn't take part in the elections for here ideology, then, using the same logic, we will insist that Israel excludes such racist and extremist groups as Mifdal, National Union, Kach, the Orang camp be excluded and banned. The extremism issue is not confined to the Palestinian camp.
