This is a national disgrace - the blind eye that the IDF turns to this huge loss of potential manpower (and from having served in an Induction Center, I am certain the true figure is far far higher) is a major cause of inequality between those who can get out of army service and those who cannot. Don't forget that once having gotten out of army service, this rolls over into who does and who doesn't do Miluim - so the effect is far longer-term and invasive than these figures suggest. For those who do not go to the army, the chances of even being considered for reserve duty fall drastically - so the available pool of potential reservists falls even further - increasing the load on those who are not so fortunate, and their families.
