    Anyone familiar with middle east news knows by now that things aren't always as they seem. All stories have more facets than the media reports on. That being said, what if Abbas has every intention of recognizing Israel as the Jewish state? What if this is just positioning - so that when he does agree to it, it appears as if he is compromising - when in fact, he had every intention to do so in the first place? I don't know how all of this is going to turn out - but I know that these things are never as simple as they seem.....
