Annapolis is the last chance for Israel and the region. Olmert and his team can begin to count time in hours to save Israel and the region from an inevitable spiral into global war. The above article correctly puts the ball in the Knesset's court. For Olmert & Co. to bow to Yisrael Beiteinu and Shas at this point spells the point of no return for peace for Israel. Preservatino of the Knesset Coalition at this point is trivial compared with the apocalyptic consequences of bowing to the right wing factions in limiting the Annapolis agenda, which MUST include the Saudi Plan, and MUST be preceded by a policy to turn over the liquidated settlement assets, infrastructure and all to the PA, in a vigorous program of liquidation of the settlements. A Palestinian state with embedded Israeli settlements is not acceptable to anyone. Americans, who foot the "defense" bill - the occupation bill - for Israel, must finally put their foot down on this issue and draw the line over $3 B/year.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, February 16, 2016.

If Merkel also criticizes Israel, life is not a piece of cremeschnitte

The Israeli reaction to Der Spiegel's report on the German chancellor's frustration with Netanyahu was ridiculous, even Orwellian; as if Israelis were aliens who had just landed from another planet.

Boycott is the only way to stop the Israeli occupation

Aluf Benn's proposal for Israel's left to establish a base of domestic support for its positions is hopeless considering the brainwashing and increasing extremism of our society.
