As a member of Israeli society for the past 50 years I have participated in building our wonderful, vibrant society. We have made noticeable progress across a wide range of socioeconomic domains. We meet the challenges facing us - be they political, economic or technological in a constructive, responsible, imaginative manner. And we respond effectively and with determination to the dynamics of today's Middle East. We make many mistakes and know that there are many opportunities for improvement. We have however built our land and our lives without having resorted to slavery, clearances of the poor, piracy, colonialism, class warfare, a Royal Navy and Yacht. We sincerely respect our fellow man, and share our R&D and agricultural expertise with Less Developed Countries in an ongoing manner. We know that we need peace and we are focused on this critical issue - it is our first priority. Living in Israel is a fantastic challenge to all of us here and we thank our fellow Jews world-wide for their concern. British Jews should enjoy their lives in egalitarian England. Israel's Jews are the ones who are living and working within the local realities - which are sometimes less-than-pleasant. These realities however in no way resemble what we have had to cope with in Europe during WWII. A time will come when peace and understanding will be part of all our lives...we are working to make this happen.
