and indeed the qualifying measure of Israel's leaders does depend on the concrete action which is taken towards reconciliation with its adversaries, especially the Palestinians. With the Palestinians this involves conceding territory in the West Bank and Gaza in establishing a Palestinian state as we agreed initially to coexist beside since 1947, but not at those borders today. All three previous Israeli prime ministers before PM Netanyahu (Barak, Sharon, Olmert) would have initiated a binding agreement by now with the Palestinians. In fact, it's fair to say that his party continually presented obstacles in moving forward on the peace efforts whenever they weren't in government.
