Just follow what the UN says. Stop the settlement enterprise and pull back to the Green Line. Everything else will be done for you. The Palestinians will handle their own security, as they are doing increasingly successfully. The other Arab states will recognise you, as they have offered. Even Hamas will cease belligerency, as they have now said. You might even get to keep some adjacent settler blocs. Voila! Israel can then live in a much more peaceful Middle East. Of course you'd have to give up your ambitions to own Judea, E J'sem and Samaria. Outlaw talk about throwing Israeli Arabs out. Play fair with the aquifers. And stop throwing your weight about in the region. But that's a small price to pay. Instead the right gives us the usual 101 suspect, self-serving reasons why Israel just must keep occupying stolen land, building illegal settlements, demanding everything from others and offering nothing itself. Easy solution: don't elect the unprincipled right next time.
