It seems to edge on the verge of stupidity for any senior IDF officer to go on the record and say we have subs & Mossad agents operating in Iran. If its though almost certain Israel does have subs operating in Iranian waters, whats the point of a second strike weapon i you never send it anywhere? In 2009 Israel took delivery of another 2 subs not currently operational and the navy wants a sixth with 5-6 subs its obvious Israel wants to extend its military power well beyond its shores not have the things sailing around Israels borders all the time. It may be a good idea for Israel to look into setting up a submarine base abroad possibly in a country like Greece and also maybe basing some jets abroad so the IAF is not grounded in the event its runways are all bombed in a war. It can only be good for relations, possibly lead to military exports and it allows Israel to pack a punch well beyond its borders.
