The U.S. can flex its muscles, but Washington should understand that it cannot be the king sitting on top of the hill forever, when the reality is that America is only a part of a dynamic changing world where power shifts are occurring constantly. Unless the U.S.'s intention is to take us to the brink of nuclear suicide, then we had better begin to think holistically. At the present time power is used to impose the will of a few nations on the rest of the world. There are universal principles such as international laws that have been skirted to the detriment of all. Israel also has to learn that it cannot dictate to the Arab world while pointing a gun at them. Only bandits point guns and demand what they want from others. Those who live by he gun will perish by the gun, Israel's demands are unrealistic and cannot be supported by the world community. Arms beget arms and as arms proliferate they guarantee over time the mother and father of all wars---nuclear conflagration. The only way to prevent the worst from happening is to reverse course, first by figuring out what steps must be taken to serve the universal common good of the world community, and then to harmonize the actions of all nations in the realization of justice and peace for all.
