We all understand the need to close te budget deficit. Ending the tax exemption for successful people is not smart. What I would suggest is cutting back on wasteful govt spending. As someone with personal experience I nominate the Israeli Welfare (Revacha) Ministry. Welfare employs thousands of social workers and child "protection" officers whose job - and ostensibly it is a good one - is to protect children. However, they have grown enormously and wield powers not subject to due process protections. Many of the middle aged ones are jaded and only seek files to keep their jobs. Others, clearly are mean spirited and enjoy trying to take your kid away. A large amount of money can be saved by cutting this wasteful govt agency. If someone anonymously reports you they will presume you are guilty. On a personal level, I have never had a problem with any govt agency (police, tax, city hall, etc) EXCEPT for the Revacha folks. They are a blast from Israel's socialist past and operate as a rogue dept not subject to due process considerations. I know people that Welfare has tried to take their kids away from them and place them in "protection" ie mental hospitals. Watch out for them.
