Of this Aesop fable is the moral message which implies that the art of persuasion by a more gracious, gentle and methodical tone, is more effective and is better than force. Besides, let's be honest. Throughout his political career, has Benjamin Netanyahu, formally amongst " the elite Sayeret Matkal reconnaissance " (just in case anyone missed that point the last 1 1/2 years here on Haaretz), ever been intimidated personally or politically by any politician either domestically or internationally? Can't really think of anyone. It's neither FM Lieberman or MK Benny Begin who will eventually influence PM Netanyahu to make a decisive peace proposal with the Palestinians. Perhaps PM Netanyahu has been patiently waiting for Begin, Yaalon and Lieberman to change their stance all along and this has not come about. If no significant progress is made with the peace effort, then Israel will be effected negatively socioeconomically and diplomatically. This would be very bad for Israel and the Palestinians in the long run, with repercussions to other countries in the Middle East.
