Not the UN and not anyone else can take it away or whistle it away by declaration. The current Palestinians have no historical existence on the land or ownership of the land. Jordan is not asking for it back, does not want it, back, and would not get it back if it did. On what basis should Israel give it to the current squatters? The only sensible solution is for Israel to declare the West Bank a Commonwealth and make the current residents and their descendents citizens of Israel but without voting rights in Israeli elections. This is exactly the history and status of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico relative to the US. It works well for the Spanish speaking Puerto Ricans, who like it the way it is, and it would work well for the Arabs living in the West Bank territory and improperly calling themselves Palestinians. They are not historic Palestinians, they have no roots in the West Bank, they have no legitimate claim to the territory, the UN has no jurisdiction, and Israel has a perfect right to tell them where to go. However anyone living in the West Bank who has legitimate ownership of the land by purchase still owns the land the same way anyone owns land. Moreover, ownership and oversight of the territory is Israel's right by conquest as well as historical, and evidently Israel has no intention to give it to loud mouth, grasping, fat, Arabs because they demand, nor should they.
